FireClan is home to some of the cruelest cats. They are usually tough, natural survivors, but also tend to be on the slow side intellectually.

Ashwind walked along the borders, smelling for any WaterClan scent. He halted, glancing at a rock with three clear cuts on it. He stepped closer and snarled. Waterclan! Someone for Waterclan had come and sharpened their claws on this rock. He must tell Viperstar! He raced back to camp, low to the ground, feet touching the ground so quickly they were blurred.
Lilaclust sunned herself, eyes closed. She turned over, glancing at Strongkit who was playing with a leaf. She had hoped her kit would be more like his father, cunning and strong. Instead she had gotton a kit who was carefree and weak. Why she had even named him Strongkit was beyond her. She closed her eyes and purred to herself. She could always have more kits....
Strongkit threw his leaf into the air, catching it in his mouth. He spit it out and laughed, "Moony! Come see this!" He glanced up, hoping she had heard him.

Bloodmoon padded over to the ginger kit, "What?" She laughed as the spit-covered leaf caught her eye, "So, you are that hungry? How about we get you real food to eat, not things that prey eat." She trotted over to the kill pile, her abnormally long tail brushing the ground, covering up her tracks. Bloodmoon snatched up a small bird and tossed it in front of Strongkit, "Here you go!" She padded away, looking over her shoulder to make sure she was out of sight, then closed her eyes. The prophesy told at her birth had haunted her all these years... Born of Blood...
Viperstar walked over to his mate and lay beside her. He whispered in her ear, "He really is a disappointment, isn't he? We have to give him a mentor that will teach him the ways of this clan. Maybe then he will become more satisfying."

Lilaclust looked at her mate, anger flashing in her eyes. Unwittingly, he had voiced the very thoughts she had moments ago. She hissed, "He is our son! Or did you forget? I'm sure he will be the best cat in the clan, and a wonderful... uh..." She paused, thinking, "hunter? Anyway, he does need a good mentor. Don't give him Bloodmoon, she's all sighs and shadows these days. Besides, she isn't the best cat on the clan to teach him our ways."
Strongkit laughed, "Thanks, Moony!" He dove at the bird, biting into it and salivating. It was so good... His first prey... He looked up at Moony and smiled. He liked calling her 'Moony' because her name was so... depressing. Moony sounded much more like who she was, a nice, smart, and funny lioness. He chewed on his bird, listening to the murmur of his parents. Suddenly he caught what they were saying, "Don't give him Bloodmoon, she's all sighs and shadows these days. Besides, she isn't the best cat on the clan to teach him our ways." He looked down at his paws, which were covered in bright feathers. His parents were ashamed of him... He felt like he was going to cry.
Ashwind raced in, "Viperstar! Waterclan... Rock... Border..." He panted, hardly able to speak. He had run too quickly, he needed to rest for a moment.

Firemist observed the two cat's bickering from afar, knowing better then to get involved. She knew that some of her clanmates thought she should still be sleeping in the apprentice's den. The only reason she received her warrior name early was Viperstar taking an interest in how multiple Waterclan apprentices fled for their lives with only shallow injuries in a recent border skirmish. Although Firemist refused to tell her leader why the Waterclan cats were driven out so easily, Viperstar still made her a warrior. Only her mother knew the cause of her "unusual intuition for battles", for which Firemist was named for. (You're probably getting sick of me avoiding explaining what makes her different, so I'll just cut to the chase) Firemist's claws could heat up in a reaction to her emotions, usually anger or fear, allowing her to simultaneously cut and burn her adversaries. The heat of her claws range from a slightly smoldering black to fiery orange to blue-tipped white hot heat. This explanation aside, Firemist jumped at Ashwind pelting into camp, breathless.

Ashwind panted once more, then looked up. "There were Waterclan cats on our territory!" He cried.
Strongkit jumper up. "I"ll shred them!" He mewled.
Lilaclust scowled. "How could they?" She snarled. "We had a treaty!"
